Based on personal feelings of isolation and one of my favorite quotes by Coco Chanel.
The overall ambience is meant to express the separation some might feel from society because of their uniqueness. This piece is implictly trying to move away from the pessimism and negativity that is often associated with feeling "different" and to encourage and inspire those who stand tall as individuals among the masses.
Your picture makes a good interpretation of the feeling you were going for! Isn't it funny how so many people feel like they're too different to belong, yet others strive to be different because they don't understand that we are all different anyway, so why worry about it?

If all my friends were to jump off a bridge, I wouldn't follow. I'd be at the bottom to catch them when they fall.
yeah, I didn't put a whole lot of time into it (1.5 hrs). I don't usually have a whole lot of time before I lose interest in a piece but I figure it's the idea when it all comes down to it. Maybe one day I'll come back and rework it. Nice call!

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
This is YOUR opportunity to mock, ridicule and generally take great delight and amusement whilst poking fun at the beloved Volunteers and Staff of deviantART.
