Sometimes days come and go and they mean nothing in the grand scheme of things. Sometime days come and they change everything. My grandmother passed away two days ago. She meant the world to me but I'm not sad because she went out like a real lady.


In the haze of things I realized how much time is slipping away; how little I have and how much I owe; how much I have and how much more I want. It's funny how selfish we become when we grieve.




Irritatingly enough, my journal layout--though it hasn't change and all my former entries work just peachy--decided to not work when I updated it this last time. Why?? Because DA wants my side label in the foot instead of the head. Bah. Pfft. Stop messing with the stuff that already worked.

Hm... what's new... I got married and moved. Was forced to quit going to graduate school while I support my small but very brave family. Life has been pretty hard but not all-together unpleasant. The biggest issue is that I've been depressed lately. Oddly enough, it hasn't been easy to work 9-5 every day doing what I love. It's so draining.

Every now and again I come across some time to work on my own projects but its so far and few between that it's hardly rewarding at all. At this point just making it through the week has been enough. I never read anymore and hardly ever find the inspiration to draw or vectorize stuffs. I'm almost sure it's a phase but it's been one of the longest phases I've ever gone through.

I've finally, after a year of work, finished putting up my graphic design site: Chapter19. Now all I have to do is continue to find the time to put up new articles. At the very least, it's done and it was for me.

So out of the blue... I got a job! I'm the newest Graphic Designer at WebFeet IM in San Luis Obispo, Ca. Yay! I have to say that I'm really enjoying the experience of working around other creative people. The firm is small enough to have a morals and large enough to have awesome projects to work on. I'm a very lucky individual and expect that (even though it's going to drastically cut into the time I used to have) I'm going to enjoy working there for many years to come.



School started against recently and between my new job and a new semester I'm really tight on time. It's funny... I used to think that I would always put work first, school second, and personal relationships third... but the more I get into the whole "adult"/"family" thing... the more I'm realizing that it's not what you produce from day to day that is the key to happiness, but what you come home to at the end of the day.



I've recently started on a new hobby--stock illustration. I can't quite post any of my new art here on dA just yet because I want to debut them first at istockphoto.com where I will be selling them... but afterwards I might share just because I like the feedback and a sold print here or there will definitely give love to my pocketbook. I'm waiting to get a small collection before I take the leap into selling my vectors. Hopefully by January I'll be set.

Okay... that's all for now. I have hundreds of new pieces from the people I watch to check out, so very soon I'll be pushing the work of someone new here at the journal. In the mean time... just love me for being good at procrastination.

So summer semester ended for me about a week ago. I got myself an awesome set of posters, a bunch of new ideas, a newly re-lit passion for my art/work, and an identity set I'm finally happy with. I'm pumped.

Oh yeah, a few weeks ago, my fiance and I adopted a little Lhasa Apso from a rescue group. He sort of selected us we were there looking at Terrier. Oddly enough, he was totally unresponsive to the name the rescue folks had given him, but Vim... oh he likes Vim. So I guess a few months back when I made "Vim & Him" I was totally channeling him to come to us. He even looked like the little dog before we cut his hair. He's the best dog ever--except he likes to sneeze on people. It's kinda cute.

Anyway, I'm just posting a little personal update along with my new journal design. (Gotta theme everything now!) I'll have more soon along with the work of another artist I absolutely adore. Until then!
